“Power”: Edition 9

“POWER is a literary testament to the boundless creativity and power of the human spirit.”

—— Christina Martin-Wright, Executive Director

POWER featured poems written by children and adults with disabilities in response to Arts for All Wisconsin’s annual 'open call' for poetry. Poets wrote about grief, change, home and other themes that reflected their lived experiences — resulting in literary art as unique as the individuals themselves. Each poem included in this collection also received a Creative Power or Merit award (between 2021 and 2024) as determined by jurors such as former Wisconsin Poet Laureate Nicolas Gulig; UW-Madison First Wave scholar and slam poet Kai Brown; award-winning poet Richard Vargas; former Madison Poet Laureate Angela Trudell Vasquez; and Wisconsin Fellowship of Poets member Jane Osypowski. This edition was released in May 2025.
